Before you visit
• A single payment must be under KRW 1,000,000.
• Cumulative purchases are limited to KRW 5,000,000 per person.
• Without Customs Validation, the VAT refund cannot be received.
Who can get a refund
• Foreign visitors staying in Korea for less than 6 months
• Overseas Koreans living abroad for 2+ years and staying in Korea for less than 3 months
• Taking purchased goods out of Korea within 3 months of purchase
• People with no income in Korea
• A single purchase of KRW 15,000 or more
Who cannot get a refund
Tax Refund is not available in the following cases.
• People whose stay exceeds the allowed period
• Diplomats stationed in Korea
• U.S. Forces Korea personnel
• People employed in Korea
• Agents acting on behalf of someone else
• Corporations

• Refunds are available for a single purchase of KRW 15,000 or more.
• You can receive about 5–8% of the purchase amount.
• The final refund may vary by purchase amount, and some items may be excluded.
